Jeremy Glenn’s track New Life remixed by Perseus (founder of favorite label French Express) is a classic in its own right. Here is an alternative take on the stunner, perfect for reminiscing about the summer that is fading over to fall. The track is featured exclusively on Future Classic’s debut DJ compilation.
Skinny leather jackets are on their way again into our fall wardrobes. Here is one of my personal favorites from Filippa K. The jacket is designed slim and short in a special and stylish matt finish.
Venezuelan nu-disco producer Trujillo has brought Bernardo Risquez in for the vocals for his latest suave summer tune. Send Me Away will be featured on a V/A EP from Apersonal Music, available on vinyl from the 27th of August.
Jeffery West’s shoes and boots are always an inspiration, classically elegant with a pinch of punk. Here’s one of the coolest pairs of ankle boots for the fall, with Jeffery, you just can’t go wrong. Couple with light denim and a chambray shirt.
Favorite label French Express at it as usual. Chris Malinchak’s up to the minute fresh tropical house track is absolutely terrific. Play it with the base speaker on in order to enjoy the full range of the track.
Tiger of Sweden knows their way around modern suits. Gaham is a new short and slim model, here in a subtle check pattern. Wear it with a sky blue shirt and mahogany colored shoes.
I remember hearing Moon Boots latest track Sugar for the first time a few weeks ago, but for some reason i just forgot to post about it. Anyway, here it is in all its smooth glory, Janet Jackson samples never sounded better.
Barbour jackets are great for various occasions. They seem to fit in basically anywhere, from swanky hotels and bars to the local inn on the countryside. Here is a cool jacket perfect for the fall, Barbour themselves call the style “refined motorcycling”. Steve McQueen was a Barbour man, need I say more?
Ed Banger Records founder and owner, and somewhat legendary former Daft Punk manager Busy P has put together a mixtape to celebrate his gigs at Ibiza this summer. The mixtape is a great compilation of fresh electronic music and hip-hop, I’m impressed that he chose to include Sixteen by Rick Ross and André 3000 for the end of the tape.
Fall is soon around the corner and you’ll need to gear up with a warmer wardrobe. Here is a nice roughly knitted white sweater with a deep v-neck by Swedish fashion brand The Local Firm.
Bronx is a 19-year old musician from Mexico who has released his first single on Nurvous Records. Mastered by Jay Lamar and Jesse Oliver, vocal samples from Mariah Carey, and a mastered feel-good atmosphere grants him a warm welcome.
Gitman Vintage is an American fashion brand creating modern versions of old-school quality shirts. The shirts are based on a collection of books from the classic Gitman shirt factory, and then given a modern, slim cut by brand front man Chris Oberlding. Here is a nice example of a bright electric/cobalt blue shirt.
Chris Malinchak from favorite label French Express is out with a fresh tropical disco track. Smooth grooves together with vocal samples from Brandy makes this a clear signature French Express track.
Nudie Jeans has a range of great jeans for the denim connoisseur. My personal favorite is Thin Finn which is a skinny-leg, medium rise model. The picture below shows a heavily washed model which in my opinion works well with basically anything.
Copenhagen based boy wonder Kasper Bjørke moonlights at Hugo Boss as one of their inhouse music bloggers. For a fresh remix of his latest track Deep Is The Breath, Kasper turned to his Swedish producer friends Martin Brodin and Copycat. The result is like what every Hugo store should sound like.
Personally i feel that Hugo is best for providing reliable formal wear, such as suits, shirts, ties, and dress shoes. Here is a nice pair of derby shoes that will go well with a navy suit, as well as with jeans or chinos.
San Fransisco trio Pillowtalks latest rework of Marvin Gaye’s and Tammi Terrell’s soul anthem The Real Thing is as good as reworks get. The track is part of a Ep called the Soul Edits out on Wolf and Lamb’s W+L Black Label.
Because of the light weight feel similar to the more heavyset denim, chambray shirts have become increasingly popular among high end brands and tailors. Wearable with blazers, jeans, chinos, and ties, these shirts are very versatile. If you’re looking for contemporary ways to dress down while remaining casually elegant, then chambray shirts will be perfect for your wardrobe. Here is an example on what to look for by exclusive Italian label Salvatore Piccolo.
